Why Hiring a Virtual Assistant is Not Working For You | Ep 84

As someone who owns a business and was able to scale it, I want to show my listeners how to become a master of delegation and how hiring a virtual assistant can support your business’s growth.

Join me in this episode as I explain and address a question that most business owners are thinking of, why hiring a virtual assistant is not working for you.

What is Delegation?

Even the better version of yourself needs help and support. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. There is no such thing as a single-handed success in the world of entrepreneurship, that is where delegation comes in. Success is not an overnight process and delegating is no exception. Every process needs to be understood and executed well and that question is? How to make it work in time.

The delegation, for me, is the process of knowing what you can and can’t do. It’s knowing what you need to focus on in order to achieve growth while at the same time empowering the people around you. It’s taking on a leadership role that allows you to delegate to your team members with a big vision in mind. Delegation is an easy process if you have a goal and when you make it a habit, it brings you closer to your goal.

Reasons Why It Doesn't Work For You

  1. Not having a goal - Assign tasks that will assist you to achieve your goals and not merely delegate tasks that you do not want to undertake.

  2. Not setting the right expectations - Share your goal, give clear instructions and the results you want clearly to your virtual assistant.

  3. Not setting a reasonable deadline - Understand that your virtual assistant is also entitled to his or her time and that your virtual assistant. is also working on other things

  4. Not having good communication with your virtual assistant - Meet regularly with your virtual assistant and provide guidance

  5. Not hiring the person suited to the task - Make sure to hire a skilled and experienced virtual assistant.

  6. Not training your Virtual Assistant - Communicate the right strategy that you want your virtual assistant to have.

  7. Being Impatient - Give your virtual assistant time to get to know your business. Remember that you didn’t hire a virtual assistant just so you can throw a task to him or her, build a relationship with your virtual assistant with transparency and respect. Simply because you delegate doesn't immediately mean that success follows, give success time to come for you and trust your virtual assistant to speed it up for you.
