Making Fear Your Superpower With Dr. Tameka Ellington | Ep 35

Making Fear Your Superpower With Dr. Tameka Ellington

In this episode, International Speaker, Fashion Scholar, and Professional Development Strategist Dr. Tameka Ellington dig into her book's concept about different variations of fear and how to address each. As a first-generation student, she went through all of these fears and is able to breakthrough and made it her “superpower” to propel her to where she is right now.

Key Takeaways From This Episode:

  • There are different varieties of fear and it includes: fear of your own voice, fear of public speaking, fear of being vulnerable, fear of making mistakes, fear of success, and fear of social inequity

  • Once you find out who you are and what you are supposed to be doing in this life, if you don’t do it, the happiness that you could have, you’ll never have. So ask yourself, "Am I gonna live my life fearfully, or am I gonna live my life happy?"

  • Marketing is a significant part of the business.

  • You can’t do everything yourself.

  • Invest in yourself. It will change your business. It will change your world.

  • Let other people invest in you as well.

  • If you don’t pump yourself up, nobody else is gonna pump you up. You have to tell people the amazing things that you do because if you don’t do it, people won’t know.

  • When people know what you have done, you can help more people and empower more people.

  • To achieve freedom and flexibility in your business, be a disciplined, time-management pro. Spend time wisely.

  • Choose who you hang out with. Spend it with people who can add value to you so you can also give more to others.
