Grow by Working in Your Zone of Genius With Dot Rock | Ep 117

"My heart kept calling me to go start this business and help other small businesses with their efficiencies, with their operations, with their hiring practices and teaching them how to delegate so that they could have more freedom and I stepped into this business so that I could have more freedom too."

In today's episode of The Master Delegator Podcast, I am joined by Dot Rock, who loves streamlining businesses by analyzing numbers and people but later felt that she could do more than just numbers. Tune in as we discuss delegation and working in your zone of genius to get to where you want to be in terms of success.

Power of Delegation

Why should business owners delegate in the first place? Dot rock carefully explained that delegation is an art that we must recognize and allow in ourselves. Accepting that we can't and don't have to do everything is where the art of delegation begins. They are people who are always better than us at certain things, and they can enjoy doing it because it is what they are good at. Learning to delegate also allows us, business owners, to have more time and freedom, shift our mindset, save money, and focus on tasks that light up and bring in more revenue.

Delegate Your Not-To-Do-List

It's important for business owners to maintain their cool in order to perform in their zone. The best way to accomplish this is to stay within their area of expertise and out of the things that they don't feel and like doing. That's where delegation comes in; whenever you have a task that you dislike but know someone else on your team enjoys and performs better at, you put it on your Not-To-Do-List and ask them to do it for you. In this manner, you maintain your mental and physical stability in order to perform CEO duties and focus on your business.

About Dot Rock:

Dot Rock is a creative, analytical visionary who combines her love of numbers and patterns with her love of people through her work as a CPA and HR professional. She quickly realized that working in public accounting was too focused on numbers and didn't provide enough people contact for her extroverted self to thrive after studying for and passing the CPA exam. She went on to work as the owner of a small business. She now leads dot Rock Consulting as CEO and owner.
